An Afternoon of Purpose: Our Spread the Love Purpose Purse Packing Party
This past weekend, Our 3 Memorial Foundation hosted a Purpose Purse Packing Party, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the outpouring of support from our community. With every purse packed, we took another step toward providing hope, dignity, and support to survivors of domestic violence.
Why We Hosted This Event
For many survivors escaping abusive situations, they often leave with nothing but the clothes on their backs. The Purpose Purse initiative ensures that survivors receive a bag filled with essential items, hygiene products, and words of encouragement to remind them they are not alone. These purses serve as a tangible expression of care, support, and empowerment.
The Power of Community
The energy in the room was electric as volunteers gathered, sorted, and packed purses filled with love. Each bag contained items like toothbrushes, deodorant, socks, lotion, and handwritten notes of encouragement. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and participants, we packed 103 purses that will be distributed to shelters and crisis centers across the region.
We were also touched by the personal donation of new unused panties that were packed with care in purple bags to accompany the purses by University of Southern Mississippi student, Madison Maddox. Her generosity added an extra layer of hope and dignity for our survivors. We believe that small acts of kindness—like packing a purse—can make a profound impact in a survivor’s journey.
Looking Ahead
The success of this event only strengthens our commitment to supporting survivors in every way possible.
