Breaking the Silence: An Our 3 Inc & Arts Center of Mississippi Collaboration

Our 3 Memorial Foundation, alongside the Arts Center of Mississippi, is honored to present "Breaking the Silence", a tribute to individuals who lost their lives to domestic violence in Mississippi this year. Each painted stone represents a life—beautifully crafted by members of our community during our recent Paint & Sip event, where participants came together to commemorate those no longer with us and to shed light on the painful realities of intimate partner violence.

**A Community United for Change**

During our Paint & Sip event, supporters, survivors, and advocates gathered to paint 45 stones, each one bearing the name of a life lost in Mississippi this year to domestic violence. It was a powerful and emotional experience, uniting our community in remembrance and in a collective desire to drive change. Every brushstroke was a moment of reflection and a call to action, and every stone is a reminder of the urgent need to prevent such tragedies in the future.

Our community’s participation in this project is a testament to the strength and resilience of those who stand against domestic violence. The stones have been lovingly placed in a public display, serving as both a solemn memorial and a powerful reminder of the work still needed to protect those at risk.

**The Display: A Testament to Strength and Awareness**

On display now through November 23rd, 2024, these stones invite all who view them to confront the impact of domestic violence in our society. We hope this memorial

not only honors those we have lost but also encourages dialogue, reflection, and action. *Breaking the Silence* is more than a memorial—it’s a call to acknowledge and address domestic violence, to support survivors, and to remember those who no longer have a voice.

The display is open to the public, allowing all members of our community to pay their respects, reflect, and become a part of the movement to end domestic violence. By "breaking the silence," we give voice to those silenced too soon, fostering a culture that prioritizes safety, awareness, and prevention.

**Continuing the Mission**

As we continue our work, we invite everyone to stand with us in support of survivors and in memory of those lost. Domestic violence is a community issue, and together, we can create a safer, more supportive environment for everyone.

Please visit the memorial stone display and take a moment to reflect on this important cause. We encourage you to join us in future events, to spread awareness, and to become an advocate for change.

Let us remember, reflect, and, most importantly, take action. Together, we are breaking the silence.
